The Margaret Thatcher of espresso machines.
Jesus Christ! Please NO! You can have mine if that's the case.

How about the Sophia Loren of coffee machines?

(not particularly appropriate, just a better image to hold in my head)

Okay I'll stop

I LOVE my L-I but haven't been able to come up with a name for her yet. I named my Cremina "Mimina" as it's my fiance's Zia's name, I was joking around but it ended up sticking.

I'm really taking my time with the L-I christening as I want the name to be perfect. :)

Now there seems to be an assumption here that Londinium I is female -

Although physique would suggest perhaps not...

Eric,
I may just take you up on your offer. I'll have to be 100% ready to commit, though, because I think seeing this machine will only seal the deal. I'm prepping the boss as we speak. We live in a small apartment... no hiding this one!

Thanks for all the great replies about shot volume/brew ratio.

Ships, vehicles, machinery, weather, trees etc in my neck of the woods tend to always lean toward the feminine.

It would be unfathomable for me to refer to my car as He/him, same goes for a vessel or machine of any sort. especially one that I have great fondness for, regardless of obvious anatomy.

She will be named some time soon I suspect :D

I can't imagine a lever machine with the name of a girl and I will nickname mine, and it will probably be "Chichille". My Mini Vivaldi is nicknamed "Minnie" and my Kawa Vulcan is "Blue Meanie". Guy or girl name on things, it depends more of the context, nothing intrinsic in my mind.

Anyone on the fence still should check out Reiss' latest blog entry to see what his latest measure is to back up his machine.
