This has been pretty much my exact workflow as well for the last week. Except with the Lido 3, the basket fits inside the grounds cup when screwed on. So I grind directly into basket, oe leveling tool, and press fit screen on. Super simple and my shots have tasted just fine.

Hello,
I received mine this morning and I did a complete mess assembling it.
Needle didn't went in smoothly as shown in the OE video.
The needles are far from being straight and I also broke one (replaced with one of the spares).
Is ok, I did a couple of shots and seems is doing his job.
I'm just wondering if underneath coffee is not moved around as should be and better replace everything.
What do you think?

I can't imagine that the slight bend in the needles makes any difference. Did you lift it often as you pressed them down to let the needles respace themselves as it went along?

I believe the set of needles that they sell for making your own WDT are the same needles.

The needles for the WDT kit are the same.

Maybe I misunderstood the instructions but I believe it said to avoid lifting. But not, I didn't until I had to pull some of them out and restart as I was stuck.

Day 2: so far I'm loving this tool (+OE tamper)
I'm getting proper results and my workflow seems improved a lot.
Maybe perfectly straight needles is not after all so important.

OE have now consolidated the Robot prep system into a kit including all the components with a neat gear stand.
