Hi everyone
I'm new to the forum and just purchased a second hand La Pavoni Europiccola which appears to be in very good condition..but..is it normal for coffee to start coming through the portafilter when you have the lever in the up position, waiting for the group head to fill..i understand it is normal to wait at least 5 seconds before pulling the lever down..should coffee be dripping through whilst the lever is still up ? Many thanks

Do you mean with coffee in basket or not. If coffee in basket and flowing right away after lifting handle this means you need to grind finer. What basket and what dose are you using?

Yes. Coffee is in the basket. My grinder is inadequate and will soon be replaced. Coffee I have is Passalacqua Moana.

This may also help in grinder decision making. Eureka Mignon vs. Baratza Sette
