After reading this : Gaggia Orione gasket stack and because I'm thinking about reassemble the group of my Internazionale I thought about something. On the original fitting the asbestos spacers had no particular direction. But if we replace them by v-seals and brass washers stack, couldn't we consider this fitting ?

I understand that even with the 4 v-seals in the same direction (bottom) it works great. But it would be more intellectually satisfying that the second gasket faces water instead of turning its back.

Opinions ?

Yes I do it this way. All seals facing down works as well but you can get unlucky (say a damaged piston) and the water may go down the side of the piston so having one facing upwards is a better way.

Second that.
I settled on a 3 gasket stack with only one v-gasket and spreader above the inlet. A four v-gasket stack tended to put my stack compression nut a bit too high.
