Does it work, or is it a Brancusi statue?
Seriously, it is very cool looking; but I don't get the funnel at the top. Perhaps a little guided tour of how it works.

The brew group design looks very close to the Arrarex Caravel, although the size is different (bigger).
Any more detail info for this machine? Any website or blog review about it?

If he gets it fine-tuned it will fill a very open niche, i.e. an open-boiler lever, not to mention a steamer. We've been waiting for it for around 5 years, since our early discussions on the benfits of open boiler machines.
If I had had the brains and wherewithal to design it I'd had flipped the lever mechanism over and added a spring. The one could pull shots and steam at the same time.

Judging by the video, he's clearly read peacecup's (that's me) long-winded posts on pre-infusion with the Caravel (credit given Dr. Jim and the "Fellini move"). Wow, just yesterday I was expounding upon my "lever philosophy" on this thread:
Cremina Crazy
And now we are finally back on the path towards open-boiler nirvana.

But ... pardon me, maybe I should look at the video, but the piston is outside on the front? Don't the classic open boiler designs put the piston in the boiler for a reason?
(It seems to me there might be a better word than "boiler", but can't think of it right off hand.)
