Embracing Espresso Excellence: A Glowing Review of the Ponte Vecchio Export Lever Espresso Machine
I recently transitioned to the Ponte Vecchio Export Lever Espresso Machine after parting with my Profitec Pro 500 due to relocation constraints. Researching on home-barista.com led me to this gem, and I'm thoroughly impressed.
The Ponte Vecchio Export's compactness and lightness stand out, making it a perfect fit for my limited space. The quick warm-up time gets me brewing swiftly, while the simplicity of operation ensures a hassle-free experience. The ability to dose 7g for a single and 14g for a double shot is a game-changer, resulting in impeccably smooth espressos devoid of the harshness I encountered before.
What really sets this machine apart is its lever profile, creating a different kind of magic with lower doses. Cleaning is a breeze without the need for backflushing, and the silence of the operation, as opposed to the loud vibe pump of my previous machine, is a welcome change. The steaming capability for milk-based beverages surpasses my old Profitec, delivering fantastic microfoam that elevates the entire experience.
While some might note minor cosmetic issues and attention-to-detail aspects, these hardly detract from the sheer delight of using the machine and the exceptional quality of the beverages it crafts. Without hesitation, I would choose the Ponte Vecchio Export again. My gratitude extends to the fellow home-barista members who championed this machine, guiding me to an espresso journey I might have missed out on.

If the export is like the lusso, then the spring peaks around 6 bar, which probably plays a large role in the reduced harshness you are perceiving in your espresso. I don't use a pontevecchio, but I am a big fan of lower dose and lower pressure extractions with my lever machine and the light roasts I enjoy. It's a winning combo!baristanovizio wrote: The ability to dose 7g for a single and 14g for a double shot is a game-changer, resulting in impeccably smooth espressos devoid of the harshness I encountered before.

Absolutely, you've hit the nail on the head. Your insights about the spring pressure peaking around 6 bar make perfect sense and certainly contribute to the smoother espresso experience I've been enjoying. Thank you for chiming in and sharing your knowledge!

Hello, another Export user here.
It's been my daily driver since 2018, and still going strong.
The only drawback I can complain is how fast overheats when having to pull multiple shots. That's the medal other side to a very quick warm up.
I've solved keeping a spongy cotton rag at hand, when I need it I curl it wet around the group.
I'm at one hour drive from the factory, and bought the machine directly there. It is a very small business with mostly everything made by hand.
