I too was watching the auction. I didn't bid, but may have if I hadn't blown my yearly budget on the Trifecta. That machine looks fairly clean to my amateur eye.

Haha Doug, I am sure everyone was sitting at home just hoping no one would post about it. Though, it now looks like it would not have mattered  I too am watching that Astoria. It is pretty cool but would be too big for me for only having one espresso grouphead. Oh the joys of the regular ebay browsing: I am constantly tormented by the cool machines that pass through!

EDIT: No one has broken the silence yet on the Aurora. Either they are staying hush hush until they receive it, or maybe no one on the boards got it...

I just checked out that machine you guys are talking about...... pretty sweet..... In the bidding of 29, did you see the person who won? over 22,000 items? bought/sold...... wow! that's some auction experience.... I wonder what his/her high bid was? Looks like he/she was in early, and then re-entered at the end..... I wonder if that gives their bid preference versus waiting to bid only right at the end....? Hmmm.....

Hopefully we'll see it turn up and working....

Just saw this machine this morning, Astoria AL-2 group with gas:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160773331713

Buy it NOW!

It is listed by someone in Austin, TX, with the handle of Mellowjohnnys........ which happens to be the name of a bike shop, in Austin, started by a guy who won the Tour De France 7 times! I wonder if Lance ever pulled an espresso with that machine....? That would be a claim to fame..... I think I will go ask...

Now I checked out that Astoria with the Hotel group....... interesting..... I would like to see one in action, and see what the coffee taste like out of the Brewer part.... could be a cool catering machine....

If you earth first, then you have precedence in the event that the winning bid is a tie.

I have learned that lesson before, Juanjo! Always put down your maximum you'd pay for it. You never know what someone else is thinking.

Yes, and use a sniping site like Bidslammer. That way your bid does not start the bidding war, and your bid goes in with 5 seconds to go. Also, you don't need to watch the auction and overbid yourself. This works for me 99% of the time.

I recently missed an MCaL by $5 recently. And my dear friend passed away the 23rd, so I was out of the loop. Otherwise I would have made a serious bid on that Aurora myself...oh well
