Small output can definitely taste good. The question is more like if it is possible to do for example 20 in 40 out with normal (first drip) preinfusion, and no fellini. Depending of the "free" volume in the group head that might be impossible.

I'm not going to measure today, since the machine is shut off. But compared to my home levers, the Conti nearly overflows the demitasse cup and can easily do a 1:3 brew ratio. You can do a lot with basket selection and a bottomless portafilter.

I can easily get 40-45 grams out with no Fellaini, I always pull the cup at the end of blonding, and just before any transparency.
