VST makes a 25g basket, in addition to a bunch of others.

https://store.vstapps.com/products/vst- ... er-baskets

It's the only one my Cafelat lever-designed portafilter won't quite accommodate with a spouted base (comes close but no cigar). It'll hold an ungodly amount of ground beans, too dangerous for casual use.

FWIW, these days I use a VST 22g basket with my Bosco double-spouted portafilter to pull morning capps for myself and my wife. Using 21 g of coffee, it provides sufficient headroom and yields up a couple of true single ristrettos on a single pull as the drinks base. Afterwards, I'll attach the bottomless portafilter fitted with a 7g VST for my subsequent singles. Works very well for our needs. I'm not currently using the 15g VSTs that had been my go-to solution for the smaller doubles I prefer, since I've discovered I'd rather pull two singles than a single double.

I used to use the EPNW baskets on my HQ pump machine. To scratch my curiosity itch, I'll pull them out of storage and see how they work on the Bosco with my current coffees, compared with the VST.

Anybody prefer using IMS baskets -- over VST and other baskets -- on their lever machines? If so, what have you found they do better than the others?

For larger doses I use the HQ 21 ridgeless double (https://www.espressoparts.com/espresso- ... 6HEALw_wcB) which works well with 19-20g doses. This basket may only fit in a bottonless pf. Can't say as I only use bottomless pfs. They also offer an HQ 21 triple (https://www.espressoparts.com/espresso- ... 8HEALw_wcB) which will hold up to 25g if you want way too much caffeine. The 14 & 21 doubles are much better baskets imo.

I'll have to try that out, thanks for the suggestions!

The EPNW "Triple basket" next to a VST 22g. in a Londinium spouted PF. I also use the big triple basket in the Slayer that I now have and it takes even more than the Fiorenzato group did, like 26g+

I dug out my standard Bosco pf & tried the EP HQ triple basket. It stands just tall enough that you can not fully lock in the pf. My pfs are from 2011 so the new ones might be slightly different.

What on earth would you use 26g for? That's approaching a quad shot

I know of a La Pavoni Commercial portafilter that can hold a 6 shot portafilter, but is a specialty and very unusual tool.

It literally is meant to be poured into a pitcher, and this volume is often used when taking multiple espressos to go via a plastic cup covered in tin foil.

I use the big basket for Vietnamese Iced Coffee in mugs, not little cups. Sua Ong Tho(Longeviety brand), espresso, ice and enjoy.

I have never seen the Quad Shot LaPavoni PF before but for dispensing into a pitcher it would be good.
