Looks like a model with a group like the one used in LSM Disco Volante, LSM Olympic and LSM Lollobrigida. The modelnumber 52 could be the year 1952...

Mike, what an amazing find! I hope you snag it so we can all learn more and see it returned to its original glory.

You might contact Enrico Maltoni and see if he has one in his collection.

or the La San Marco company, which may have photos in its archives.

Heres more pics. I guess that it is a 1956. Says 1956NO1861 or 1961PK15.

Wow, what a discovery!
On the badge of the boiler is written 1950/1951, or not?
Here the flyer of a similar 42:

Unfortunately, La San Marco hasn't yet been publishing much of their companies history, nor has any "Espresso Historian" been done such... but maybe someone will finally edit something?

Until than you could find a picture of this machine on the LSM-homepage, stating 1940 and obviously with some pre-creama-caffe-era steam group:

The same model is in Maltonis collection: mod.42.3

The groups used in this 52-machine might be some special series spring groups, as they have casings round the springs rather than the casings round the hole group in Lollo, Disco & Olympic...

Hope you'll grab it , too!

In this photo there is a LSM with your group - but clearly not the same machine as yours... (Image found here https://lamarzoccousa.wordpress.com/200 ... t-machine/)
