Primacog: Was its steam wand able to steam a jug of milk well?

It seems to have the capacity to steam 4 or 8 ounces milk without an issue.

That's good for such a small boiler...

Thanks for that clarification.

Yeah, that screw on thingy :)
The temp is shown on the app without it. Very nice.
Still curious why the top disk on the puck.

That workflow video was very interesting. If the first batch of preordered argos levers turn out to be working well and the final price of the argos moving ahead is still reasonable and within budget, I may have to look into acquiring one...

Is that a puck screen?

Bgn/Primacog;why the top thing on the puck?

The downside of having an uneven distribution is clear... With the use of a proper Puck Screen.
There is the potential to create a method of distributing water evenly across and through the ground coffee
and so reducing the chance of channeling. This will provide an even path for water to travel through the coffee grounds.
And could as a bonus keep the coffee screen clean.

Great explanation. Thanks. I've seen them discussed on the Strietman thread but never considered getting one. How do you extract the disk after the shot? With a magnet or pointed tool? Digging it out of the bottom of the puck dispenser would not be nice.

You just tip the portafiltr to one side and tap with one finger at one side of the puck screen and it falls out. It will be hot though so I tend to let it fall into my hand under the tap.

When I used an Elektra MCaL the only way I managed to pull a Fellini without disturbing the puck was with a puck screen. It wasn't necessary with regular shots but was still beneficial. I assume it's the same with the Argos.
