Does anyone know how to view the recent Barista contest in Portland? Previous years are on YouTube, but I can't find a trace of 2023 there.

Can't find a video yet, but I did run across this...
The top spot went to Isaiah Sheese of Archetype Coffee and his Pink Bourbon, produced at Finca Buena Vista in Guatemala before being turned over to Diego Bermudez of Finca El Paraiso in Colombia for his proprietary "thermal shock" processing.

Are there any competitions for brewing cup or barista, where the coffee is the same for each contestant?
I know I am not the only one who probably feels like these competitions have more to do with the coffee that is sourced than the actual skill of the competitors. Thus, I always just glance over these things as oppose to actually caring for them, or maybe these competitions are not for the general public. *shrug*

I would say that if you read the rules then your feeling might change considerably.

I visit Isaiah's shop a few times a week. I'll have to congratulate him and ask about his processing technique.
