The Washington Post has just published profiles of the 12 people lost in the Thousand Oaks shooting. The first victim profiled is Sean Adler, 48, who had just opened a roastery and coffee bar a month earlier. He had chosen his new career for his love of better coffee. To make ends meet, he was working as a security guard at the Borderline Bar and Grill. He had been the strength coach for the local high school and had chosen a coffee career when a heart attack prevented a law enforcement career.
