So, while I drink espresso 95% of the time, decided it would be fun to learn how to make macchiatos, cortados, and cappuccinos. Of course, that also means I want to learn how to do latte art. So I am looking for some 4 oz cups for macchiatos/cortados, and some 6 oz cups for cappuccinos. For the smaller 4 oz size, was going to get the 4.5 ounce Libby Cortado glass, but I am wondering if that shape will make learning latte art harder. For 6 oz size, was looking at some of the cups that Sweet Marias sells.
Does a more rounded shallow shape make latte art easier to learn?
Would appreciate any suggestions for specific cups in the 4 and 6 oz sizes.

Latte art is really only for lattes. Foam for cappuccinos is too stiff. Macchiatos only need a spot of milk in the center and cortados are really too small to do much. I try a little fern leaf on mine.

I used 4.5oz Gibralter glasses for cortados and 2.5oz Ancap Verona espresso cups for macchiatos. https://ancap-usa.com/products/cups/verona/18472

Bodum makes several kinds of double walled glass espresso cups that hold around 3 ounces. Good for macchiattos and extra long shots. My set has held up very well -- a lot better than the more iconic Illy crystal espresso glasses, which are scratch magnets.

I got cortado glasses from here as a gift - http://www.cortadoglass.com/. These are basically 4.5 ounce gibraltar glasses, which I had a hard time finding because I didn't want to buy cases from a restaurant supply store. I love them and use them for other things as well like scotch and bourbon, although I have glencairns as well.

For macchiato cups, just get any three ounce espresso cup that you like.

I use this cup from a Bay Area ceramics company: Heath Ceramics: https://www.heathceramics.com/collectio ... modern-cup This one is the perfect size for a cortado (thank you, Dave). Their 12oz coffee mug is also awesome. Yes, they're pricey, but but whenever someone asks what I'd like for a gift, I always say, "Ya know, I love these mugs....."

I just ordered a couple of these La Marzocco cups, 6oz size, after searching around on and off for way too long. They don't arrive until Monday, but I like the absence of handles, the unglazed outside, and the hand-finished uniqueness of them.

Macchiato

This is my favorite macchiato cup:

This is my second favorite:

Cortado

I like Sideshow's recommendation, which seem equivalently wonderful to what I use (and less expensive!):

Thank you everyone for the suggestions!

@Almico and @Sideshow, thanks for the recommendations on the Gribralter glasses. Just placed an order! Seems like art is possible with those glasses even though volume is small (would be happy if I could duplicate picture Balthazar_B posted).

Going to research all the other options suggested as well. Will let everyone know what else I order!

Don't go by me, my latte art stinks. That one is very nice.

A gibraltar glass makes very nice drinking cortado, with or without the milk art.

Duralex makes glasses in all sizes -- they have an approx 4 oz glass that's perfect - it's 3" high with a 2 7/8th diameter rim. They are made of some kind of tempered glass that I've been unable to break. They are made in France and available widely.
