Curious about the https://www.loveramics.com/collections/brewers tasting cups.

Does the shape of the cup matter in the flavor profile as suggested in the the title per a cup? Or are they just names for the cups. I mean, of course they are fundamentally just titles of cups, but according to conventions to tasting and drinking.

shape does matter, im not sure about the "science" behind loveramics but for that same reason I'm backing this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kr ... =user_menu

The cup shapes appear to follow the same premise as beer. stout/brown ale/IPA kind of thing.

However, I don't think it applies as predominantly to espresso/coffee.

About every other maker of wine glasses also produces a differently shaped wineglass for specific types of wine and the range of Belgian beer glasses is staggering but science seems to indicate any effect is more related to priming than actual effects.

For tasting cups where the aim is to describe all components as precisely as possible it seems to me that it would be better to stay away from using different shapes as those would lead the cupper to favor a preselected profil, or rather exaggerated; the profile it might become a self fulfilling prophecy. If anything you;d want find out if there is a cup that due to its color, shape and texture etc has a neutral effect on results.
