Lance Hedrick and other coffee influencers - Page 3
I have a patreon and fund purchases like Hoffmann. I have done well in comps. I have coached champions.
Im not sure how to prove any of this to you. Perhaps receipts? Can I post a photo here of my timemore receipt? Eg1 receipt? Decent receipt?
Only company I have gotten involved with is breville. Since then I have not made a single breville video (it followed my BDB video).
I'm legally obligated to disclose relationships.
I choose not to review things if I dislike them UNLESS they have a lot of hype (osma for example) or misleading in marketing.
Ironically, my niche was sent for free and I was negative. I paid for the timemore. Love it.
Patrik gets most of his stuff free. Why not skeptical there?
Hoffmann originally accepted things. He had to grow into a sustainable model. I'm trying to get there.
For now, I've burned bridges my refusing to review or give negative reviews.
Please let me know how best to prove a negative.
Thanks

Correct. Didn't need to do side by side. Fuji spit out a ball of fines at the end of grinding. This doesn't have those issues. Plus it is about 1500 rpm slower (if memory serves).
I enjoyed the fuji, and brewed with jt for a few months religiously before reviewing.

Happy to send you a link to my patreon where I fund purchases. I'll Start (back) giving grinders away after I get my particle analyzer in and make measurements with them all. Then they'll all be given away.
Even ones I got for free.
I've given away about 20 grinders so far. Some of these were free to me. It piss3d off the manufacturer when I gave them away (including nice grinders). I obviously don't care much about keeping in good grace.
As people have noted, im not shy about my opinion.
In fact, lots of manufacturers refuse to work with me because I tear machines apart.
Buy let me know and I'll shoot a link your way. We can discuss timemore in my discord teehee

Flying high has some blowback. This is normal. Keep up the good work. But if I may...Lancehedrick wrote:What is a guy to do to get trust? Lol

For your videos, if you could just add...
I mean, what I'd really like to see is...
Lance, there's really no other way to say it...
Lance, I need more cowbell!
Alright, self-amusements out of the way, and now back to the focus of this thread: what's up with the lowest rpm as 800? Isn't that high for a low? Does the dimmer switch mod work? If so, does it help/hurt or not worth it? If you could eventually put flat ssp burrs in it, for like yummy espresso, but also wanted it to do filter, wouldn't 800 rpm really hurt you then? Anyway, can't wait for the full review or any other video you do.

You'll have to come to grip someday that you have nothing to prove here, especially to forum dudes/dudettes. You set your own path and the evidence of that success is not found in commentary by forum people. Just ignore and move on.Lancehedrick wrote: Please let me know how best to prove a negative.

I enjoyed the video of the Timemore. I enjoy most of Lance's videos especially the ones that dive deep. I appreciate that about him because it seems like some of the other YouTube coffee people only make a video long enough to satisfy the almighty algorithm. Since Lance is here actively asking for feedback (which I think is cool), I did enjoy the earlier videos more when they were a bit more like a coffee buddy geeking out together. Now they seem more highly produced and silly with the skits and such. I'm sure that is hard work, I bet others enjoy it, and it may bring in a wider audience but it doesn't hit my preferences square between the eyes like it used to (and that's fine!) (Throttle House vs Savage Geese for example.)
The Timemore video was informative and I think Lance's disclosures are above board. He noted he had to use a VPN to make the purchase. A minor critique would be assuming it would do great with espresso when that wasn't tested yet. I know the Niche killer thing was tongue and cheek, but the video seemed more aligned with a Fellow Ode killer. Very curious to hear everyone's thoughts on the espresso burrs when they come out.
Doing good work Lance, keep at it if you enjoy it.

You are 10000% correct. I am obsessed with the idea of authenticity and it gets at me when called into question. But you're right! Thank you
Dimmer won't work because it is bldc. Would need to reconfigure controll3r. Really not sure why so high tbh!
Thank you! The skits are honestly something i wish I could've done earlier but the videographer was working for bare bones money and had no desire to faff around haha. I have done theatre and music most of my life so it is just a part of me lol.
As for coffee geek, what did I do then I don't do now? What was the change? I guess you could message me since we are way off topic here haha. Thanks for the feedback!

The 800rpm minimum was the only question I had as well. Perhaps due to the burr geometry they didn't need to slow it down further?ducats wrote:Flying high has some blowback. This is normal. Keep up the good work. But if I may...
