I had missed this... ordered the coffee today. Will add my comments on the main thread once I get it and try it. Thank you!gr2020 wrote:Also, if you want to try something and compare with what others think of it, here's a coffee a few of us are trying over the next couple of weeks:
Counter Culture La Golondrina (group tasting)
It's the first time with the "group tasting" idea, but hopefully we'll get a bunch of folks trying it! It will be fun to see what others taste in the same coffee - feel free to jump in if you'd like.

Is this shot from your Breville or your Rocket? What did you like about these two blends?wachuko wrote:After trying several coffee beans... so far, the two I like the most are (in no specific order):
Red Bird Brazil Sweet Blue
Vivace Dolce Espresso

That one on the photo was the Dolce out of my Breville. I am still working on getting a good (better) shot from the Rocket, not there yet.
Sweet Blue - loved the body of the espresso... dark chocolate texture and flavor is no joke. I put a little bit of sugar and it is like drinking a mocha
Dolce - less body, but the taste is just amazing, imho of course... I am still playing with the dose and grind... last one I did was 17 grams in with 25 grams out. Creamy, after taste is very nice... I want to saw that it has a hint of caramel but nothing like the Lavazza Super Crema. I am sorry, it is hard for me to describe it. It is so balanced, no high acidity like the Sweet Blue (I let the Sweet Blue sit for a minute before drinking) . It is a combination of milk chocolate with caramel, balanced flavor, great after taste that lingers in your mouth... I really liked this one. I had order two bags... going to order a few more. I don't want to run out of this one.
EDIT: I am not changing the dose, I think 17 grams is it... I will grind a bit finer (current setting on the Breville integrated grinder is 6, will try 5) so that I can slow down the pour.
Here is the video of that espresso in the photo above:

And now you'll also have to work on mastering a lever as well from what I read. Lots of fun ahead of you!wachuko wrote:That one on the photo was the Dolce out of my Breville. I am still working on getting a good (better) shot from the Rocket, not there yet.
Thanks for the notes on the blends. I've never had them before. They seem to be good comfort blends. I'll be curious to know if they come out very differently from the Pavoni.
