We know how amazing coffee is in the cup. It is also one of the most fascinating plants on Earth. Most of us don't live in a tropical climate but though quite difficult to grow a coffee shrub/tree in a pot, it can be possible. I started growing a couple in '06 and my most recent is a 5 year old Typica. It's been a lot of fun and a great learning experience. It's also nice for others who enjoy coffee to actually see a living plant. There's not a lot of information on growing coffee in a pot at home or in a cafe or roastery.
I've started a FB group Home Coffee Growing to help learn together.

Very cool. I would love to try to grow some. Where can you find some plants?

The greenmarket in Union Square in NYC has them. Check your local greenmarket.

It would be cool to find some F1 hybrid viable beans...they're out there. What percentage of greens are viable do we think?
