I just got back from my trip to Miami and was surprised to see espresso machines in every grocery store, corner market, restaurant and home there. That said they pretty much all used pre-ground coffee and as expected the espressos just tasted like strong coffee, nothing special flavor wise.

But the difference in coffee culture from the northeast to southern Florida is fascinating.

seems these bricks of Cafe Bustelo are everywhere... even the boat we overnighted on had "espresso ground" coffee for the drip coffee machine on board.
