Scientists discover gecko hair not strong enough to lift typical HX machine

The strength of attachment is so strong that a single gecko hair, only one-tenth the diameter of a human hair ... could lift an ant, while a million hairs covering an area the size of a dime could lift a small child of about 45 pounds.

Anatomically Correct & Politically Correct?

Two-month-old Shiloh is the first infant re-created in wax by Madame Tussauds and can be seen with her wax parents standing over her at the international museum's branch in Times Square. A ticket to take a peek at what the museum calls "the world's most famous baby" costs about $30.

Shiloh, whose lips are pouty like her mother's, rests in a woven basket in an African-themed nursery.

Visitors can have their photos taken with the famous wax family, and $1 from each photo will be donated to
UNICEF.

Ah, those were the days... I worked in France for four years. The minimum vacation for a full-time employee by law is five weeks. There was a list of reasons you'd get more days. In the end, it totaled up to eight weeks for me. Out of respect to my US-based manager, I didn't use it all.
