I got an email from Springer today (scientific publisher) about e-books for $9.99 until August
So I did a search for coffee books and found some that in the past have been hard to get / expensive
Coffee
Volume 1: Chemistry
Editors: Clarke, R. J. (Ed.)
http://www.springer.com/us/book/9789401086936
Coffee
Volume 2: Technology
Editors: Clarke, R. J. (Ed.)
http://www.springer.com/us/book/9789401080286
Coffee
Botany, Biochemistry and Production of Beans and Beverage
Editors: Clifford, M.N. (Ed.)
http://www.springer.com/gp/book/9781461 ... 1461566571
Anyone with experience of these books have any comment? They are from 1985-1987.

I have all of them and they're exceedingly valuable resources. I particularly like the last of the three you mentioned because of the depth of the botany discussed. While some concepts and ideas might burn bright then later fade over time, the objective data on growing conditions, chemical composition, etc don't really need much updating.

You need to enter the code SBA16E at check-out.
This title also looks interesting, but it was published in 2004, so it will be missing the last dozen years of research - "Beverages in Nutrition and Health" - http://www.springer.com/us/book/9781588291738
Thanks for pointing this out!

Hello everyone.
I got an email from Springer-- their ebook sale is on again until June 14.
The prices on the coffee books seem really high but once you go to checkout and enter the discount code, they go down to 9.99
Code is SBA17E
NOTE: be sure to change your country! Because it's 9.99 in your local currency... as a Canadian I would save a lot switching to Canada from USA or Europe.
Have fun!
NB: I don't have any relationship with Springer.
NB: I didn't actually buy last year... too many choices and I was concerned they would be written "over my head". Anyone who did buy, let me know what they are like and what your favourite was. I roast frequently with a Quest with an Orange Pi-TC4-Roastlogger setup using a recipe and monitored over VNC to an iPad so I should learn more about the science.
