Mine is similar, from a similar whisk. Works great and I got the whisk for 50 cents at a yard sale.

Ticonderoga brand #2 pencil, clear tape, sewing needle.

I clean sewing needle with 91% isopropyl alcohol every couple of weeks. Clear tape changed as needed. Current pencil >6 years old.

I use a bobby pin and bend half to form a t handle. Works for me.
