Thanks for this thread. I didn't know about it. Just downloaded the newest app on my phone. Have not used it but looks very impressive.
I am a home-roaster, not a home-barista...
Thanks for your hard work with the app. Is there a way to turn off the brews automatically exporting on the android app?
Great! Enjoy. If you got any questions, I'm here to help.Sal wrote:Thanks for this thread. I didn't know about it. Just downloaded the newest app on my phone. Have not used it but looks very impressive.
Beanconqueror is deeply customizeable

Thanks for your feedback!Allongedaze wrote:Thanks for your hard work with the app. Is there a way to turn off the brews automatically exporting on the android app?
Beanconqueror stores all data locally, without any server interaction. Having no automatic backup to the download folder, would result in a worst case into a complete data loss (like it was back in the days some times by users, cause of accidents).
Therefore: Actually its not possible to disable, what is bothering you with the files?
Have a great cup of coffee

That makes sense, it's only because I noticed them appearing in my files app as new files. I didn't realise it rewrites the old backup which is useful, I thought I'd have a lot of old files to clear out eventually! If there's an easy way to provide the option to change where they are saved in future updates that would be great but it's such a small non-important thing really.
Thanks again for your hard work and continued support with new features, it's honestly miles better than any of the smart scale apps like Acaia!

Sadly Android changed several times how to interact with the file-system, therefore I'm happy that the Download-Folder is working until now, therefore there won't come new file save path options to Beanconqueror - sorry!
If you use Beanconqueror frequently, you won't have any issues with to much old backup files, because they are deleted frequently when you open up the app.

After seeing your post and installing the app a few weeks ago, I used the app to log my greens as well as roasting and brewing them. I am very very impressed with the details of the fields that I can keep a record of. I have used a few other coffee-related record-logging apps in the past, but none was as complete as your BeanConqueror. I am in the process of adding the greens I currently have in stock. But with a large number in stock (over 50 different beans now), it is taking time.
While it is extremely convenient to have the app on the phone, I do not like typing a long note even with cut and paste on the phone screen. I use a Pixel Book Chrome OS laptop for my daily computer use. Since it can install and use native Android Apps on ChromeOS, I thought I should be able to install the app on my Pixel Book and use it with the larger screen (multiple windows) and the real keyboard. As it turned out, the Google Play Store tells me that the app is not compatible with my Pixel Book.
I have no clue as to the difference in how the Chrome OS handles native Android Apps as to the pure Android phone (I use Pixel 7 with Android 13), but is there any way to install the app on my Pixel Book? If not, do you have any plan to release a future version that will be compatible with Chrome OS?
Thank you for your hard work and the wonderful app. I will be making a donation to the app to help with your development cost and time.

Hi Lars, thanks a lot for the improvements. The app is getting always better.
A suggestion to the feature introduced earlier:
Just for Espresso preparations: Activate in Settings, that a brew will be automatic stopped, when no flow rate is detected anymore
If the time measurement could stop at the peak point of the chart (i.e. when the pump stopped) that would be even more useful. From that point a few more seconds until the flow and the clock stops, that is actually a few more drops coming out with no pressure.
Another comment, this window is closed by a top right corner X. It would be more logical (at least for me) to have a Close or Back button at the bottom, this is how other steps or the brew itself is closed.

sorry for the late response & thanks for the question.
Actually I don't got have any Pixel Book, and do not plan to have a look how this could be supported yet to be honest.
There are 2 third party apps to like add roasted beans and share them directly from web, but this is not given for green beans yet.
Maybe in a near future, I'll support this aswell.
Also to mention is that the green-bean section is not used widely across the user base.
Maybe one "easier" solution would be to buy a bluetooth-keyboard and connect it to your phone to have it more convenient.
Have a great cup of coffee!
