My new tamper arrived yesterday. It's light which is nice, feels nice in a Delrin sort of way. Changing bases takes seconds if you hurt it.

It's the first proper sized tamper, 58.4 instead of 58, I've had and that sure is nice.

Sorry about the picture quality.

If you're looking for a high quality, extremely serviceable 58.4mm, reasonably priced tamper, this certainly fits the bill.

After I ordered it I wondered if it would end up being a waste of money because it seemed like I should have got a Kafatek Levtamp to match the Monolith, but at this moment I'm happy with the purchase. I'll probably sell all my other tampers and just keep this one.

It's not beautiful like lots of others, but it certainly works fine.

I'm guessing "BH" should mean something, is that right?

Just got this tamper and really like it.
The fit in the VST baskets is perfect and the weight and feel are very comfortable.
Also fits well in the Breville 920 baskets.

In comparison, our Espro is heavy and clunky.
My wife who has shoulder issues loves the BH tamper.
Its much more comfortable for her to use.

I actually like the feel of delrin as its warm and not slippery.

Also the notch around the periphery seems to work as claimed to reduce suck of grounds when removing this snug fitting tamper.

It looks great - but it also appears that they cannot be ordered right now, if I understand the BH website correctly. I plan to order on as soon as the process is open again. How much was it?

With shipping and one spare face ($10) it was $55.

Got mine today. Big fan especially for the price. Well made and nice hand feel.

Kinda wish the handle was a little taller, to improve ergonomics, but that's ok :)

They're back in stock... I ordered mine yesterday and cheaped out on shipping. Will get it in a few weeks!

Saw one at a local cafe and I really liked it... looking forward to trying it out of curiosity more than anything

What is the weight of the handle vs the base? I like the idea of a lightweight tamper, as long as it is still balanced toward the tamping end.

The handle is Delrin(acetal), weighs 105 grams, the base is stainless and weighs 57 grams. I don't really understand balanced, you press straight down, what's to balance?
