Where to buy used coffee roasters

I've been looking to make the jump to a larger roaster for the last year. I currently have a Huky 500 and it's served me well. I probably roast 200 pounds a year, which isn't a lot but I feel like I could get better roasts on a 1kg to 2kg roaster. It would also enable me to expand my capacity to sell more.

Buying a new roaster is really pricey, and I'm wondering if I can get into something for a bit less money. I've looked at coffeetec, the North roaster forum, here, Craigslist, and eBay. Am I missing anywhere?

The anecdotes I see allude to used roasters being available everywhere and are easy to find. From those sites I listed, there are some, but not many.

In some respects I'd like to get a new roaster, but if I can save a few thousand dollars it would seem worth it to go used.

Just exploring all my options, but any additional input would be appreciated. Thanks! Tim

Roast magazine has classifieds, but you really only see huge roasters there.

You could also check out manufacturers forums. For instance, Mill City has a pretty nice forum with classifieds (you can join without owning a machine)

That's in the US forum. I've successfully been added to the World forum, but I applied to the US forum and haven't yet been added. I cancelled my request from last week and tried applying again to join.

I sent a laundry list of questions to the seller that have yet to be answered. Hopefully they do.

So tempting... but this sort of thing needs a grand plan, I suppose... so many additional setup costs, I suppose... oh well.
