Kenyas' seem to be remarkable this year. I just got a sample of KENYA WANJEGI AB from La Minita. I roasted it Saturday and it's gone already! It has very nice complex fruit, but no lemon or grapefruit, more like a mangos, ripe banana and peach with a striking dry fragrance. The creamy body is a welcome bonus. I'm picking up a bag on Wednesday. This should be a very fun coffee.

Sounds delicious! Based on the description, this could be the same beans that Happy Mug is selling:

They also have a Kenya Kigutha and a few Central microlots that sound interesting (as well as some La Minita Sumatrans, for those looking for high quality Indonesians).

That sure sounds like the same coffee! Yum.

Centrals are their specialty. I have been enjoying the Guat La Flor Del Cafe very much. It's an odd coffee in that I can roast it well into 2nd and the outer seed shells are still cinnamon colored. Even roasted that dark, it still maintains plenty of fruit. It almost tastes like a blend, with the dark flavors mixed with the sweet.

I'm picking up another bag of the Sumatra Mutu Batak from them tomorrow as well. I wish I contracted more. It's very polished for an Indonesian coffee and does well at medium, giving off very sweet fig newton and dried apricot notes. I'll have to get some samples of the others so I have something when this runs out.

Any tips on roasting/using the Mutu Batak? I picked some up a while ago, mostly hoping to work it into some espresso (pre)blends, but I've seen enough positive feedback on it that I think I should be playing with it on its own.

It is definitely tasty as SO. It does well slow start/fast finish, and equally well fast with a long simmering development. I have roasted it FC- and FC++ and not had a bad roast yet. I do not think it will be happy 8-minute Kenya style.

Has anyone roasted any of these Kenyans yet? What about the Shakiso Mormora?
Great minds do think alike.
I have on the way 5 lbs each of the Ethiopian Shakiso Mormora, the Ethiopian DP Mormora Guji (I'm a big fan of DP complexity), 5 lbs of the Kenya Kirinyaga PB (bought 5 one lb bags too - don't think it's cheating - just more expensive) and 5# of the Keny Nyeri Gathaithi AB.

Arghhhhh, just got an email from SM, saying they oversold the Kenya Kirinyaga Ngugu-ini Peaberry and offering me a replacement for my order. Anyone have another source on where to get this coffee? Anyone buy a ton and want unload any? I'd happily trade all this Baraka Buna that I don't care for.
