Last year's was definitely cardamon. But way too hard to swallow that price. But to each, their own.

Yeah that's an insane price. I guess word must've really gotten around about last year's.

I'd be more willing to shell out if it was the natural variant, maybe, which to-date has been the most exciting coffee I've roasted, but the cardamom-centric washed, hmm.. I'd go in for a pound on a group buy, but it would take a brave soul to drop ~$1k on that box of greens :D

I struggled to enjoy the intense Cardamon flavors. Not my type of complex.

If someone wants to deal with the hassle of that many packages, +1 lb here. Should probably be a separate thread / someone should volunteer for logistics first.

A good idea. It should go in a Buy/Sell [Group Buy] effort. If noone beats me to it I will. But until commitments equal to 9.5 kg and paypal payments received, I would not order such a $$$ box. And I could not order and distro until after Nov 5. We'll see.

[EDIT]I would like to have a go with the Sudan Rume again because it was really good and as for rare varietals, I have never had the gesha that was interesting enough for the premium. I got the Sudan Rume. But I think a distro of close to $1000 worth of coffee is just not a good idea. Too much $$$ and the possibility - albeit remote - of a fuss or misunderstanding. So I rescind my intention. Maybe they will throw some in a sample selection again. That's how I got mine last year.

This year's Panama Elida natural is pretty good stuff. I roasted 2lbs - 1 for espresso & the other for filter. Its like a DP Ethiopian with lower acidity & a tropical twist. The shot's are extraordinarily fruity that display mango, papaya & banana esque flavors. I like how the ripe fruit tastes are strong w/o having to deal with the high acidity normally associated with the lighter roasts I use to get these flavors to pop.

This offering from klatch seems very similar. In fact the farms/cities are only 10km apart!
