Honey process Yirg.
Thanks for posting. This one sounds like a winner. Looking forward to seeing how it roasts. Think I will try Jen's lower charge/high early heat approach

Just picked up the Crown Ethiopian Tej. I'll probably take a crack at it today.

A few notes straight from Jen; it's extremely clean. Good body, and the fruits are starkly Hawaiian Punch, not fermenty berries. In short, fast roasts in the Ikawa, she got razor sharp clear notes of orange blossom extract.

All Ethiopian coffees are arriving late this year, so expect to see a few more pop up along with Kenyans shortly.

I just peeked at the greens. They don't look like a honey processed coffee at all, they look like a washed. And small, even sized beans.

The Gopher Gulpers went w/a couple. Will split up at cupping on 9/22.
1) A Huehue from María Elena Vides. Royal Oak. Choc, apple, juicy. All kinds of brews. https://royalcoffee.com/products/cj1210/
2) A Kenyan PB from the Nyeri region. Sweetmarias. Struggled to narrow down a Kenyan. Went with this one due to score (91.2) and notes: molasses, orange juice, "...the fruit bomb espresso, dark chocolate and blueberry in near equal proportion, and near mouth puckering brightness." https://www.sweetmarias.com/kenya-nyeri ... -2018.html

Haven't tried that one, but I have been digging the Nyeri Kagumoini I got from SM recently. Really interesting tropical fruit notes, giving a result that is a bit different for a Kenyan.

^the 1st ¶ description is a bit sketchy on that Hambela. Seems like their trying to flesh out an otherwise OK coffee. Have you roasted any yet?

Just ordered today, a little to try. From the better prep dp Ethiopian lots to me it often gets down to personal tastes, roast profiles etc., descriptions are tough to go by.

This is the same coffee referenced as being excellent in the past in the Hambela Hassan thread no? (posts 17, 21, 22)

Ethiopian Hambela Hassan Natural

I'm surprised that there's not more enthusiasm for the organic gr. 1 single farm Hambela although I agree that the description does not sound super amazing. I emailed Burman regarding this year's lot compared to last year's and this was their reply

"Slightly mellower acidity - great berry flavors.

Roasts a little more uneven from last year but definitely think cup quality is better. It is a microlot blend from Hambela so it contains a couple different Gr. 1 lots that they put together to create this cup profile. "

I'm quite pleased with the Gatugi. Quite a complex espresso extraction. The other ten pounds I grabbed was Tanzania Tarime Town. Judging from the first roast I've done, I will like it as well. I went with a city roast - just a bit past the end of 1C and enjoyed a tasty rhubarb raspberry mix with caramel for the noon espresso shot. My colleague liked it so well, he bought the rest of that roast on the spot, so I'll roast another batch quite soon.
