You can lol but if all else fails these make fantastic lamp bases. I'm making one out of a worn out Cimbali. It will be worth more than it was as a grinder.:D

The doserless spout would probably fit, but I'm more worried about covering the motor. I'd just use the doser but it's filthier than the burr carrier was, and it had mold in it....
If you want to clean the doser, I've had good results with Joe Glo (probably cafiza would work too). I soak all the little parts (including the window) in a pot of hot Joe Glo and then I soak the doser body in it's own pot. Rinse well in warm water. The only down side is that those old aluminum doser bodies will oxidize in the Joe Glo. It takes a sanding pad or similar to shine it back up. End result is very nice though!

Here is an example of how it can turn out. I didn't take a before photo, but this one looked worse than yours! The windows were completely coated and the entire inside had nasty, old, caked on coffee. A brush and vacuum wouldn't have touched it. A good soak did the trick. Also a rag dipped in the solution works well for cleaning oils off the the hopper and grinder body. Wipe/rinse with fresh water.

That looks to be either the same or a remarkably similar doser to the one on mine. I was thinking I may need a sandblaster or something, the caked on coffee looks and acts like cement. Does that doser connect via screws on each side of the throat and two spaced about the same that go vertically into the body of the grinder, rather than the modern screw arrangement? Seems like whatever mazzer I've bought has a degree of uniqueness in the way it's assembled.

I'm not sure if the screw arrangement is exactly the same as yours, but you should be able to tell by the second photo I shared. You can see the two vertical screws in the bottom of the doser and the two screw heads at the top of the doser on each side of the throat. I don't have this grinder anymore, so I can't offer more detailed photos, but I could confirm or deny if you posted more detailed photos of yours. And you'd be surprised what Joe Glo or Cafiza can loosen up with 1 TBSP powder in 1 liter of boiling water. Do you have either on hand? One more note about soaking: it discolors black plastic, making it turn gray.

I don't have either currently, the whole assembly went to the motor shop, so I haven't been able to do more than a basic cleaning of the burr carrier and the outer case. I'll need to find screws for the doser at some point, as they seem to have been lost.

I got a call from the motor shop, the parts didn't work, so they used an analog method of changing the phase. It should work on 220v just fine now, and it cost less than I expected. With all necessary parts I'm in about $350. I bought a new hopper because I don't need the giant one, as well as some accessory replacements. All told Ill be out around $400, which is what a used Mazzer costs anyway, correct?

I picked up the grinder today, and it works as it should now. Im still waiting on an espressoparts order so I can place the burrs.
