Someone in my house messed with the grinder while cleaning unbeknownst to me and somehow unlocked the adjustment ring. When I started the grinder it spun itself to full lock and seized. Since then I've been able to remove the inner burr and clear it of coffee, but the outer burr is still completely locked out.

Where it is currently stuck is not even on a step. I've tried loosening the grind setting by hand but its not budging. At this point im in my head about which direction loosens and which tightens. Is there anything else i should try? Is this just like a really tight screw? Anyone have any experience with a problem like this? Thanks in advance!

My go-to tool for stuck adjustment collars is a rubber strap wrench. The rubber shouldn't damage the finish, but I'd wrap some tape around it just in case.

Excellent! For future reference, would you remind us which way to turn to loosen? I look at the numbers and turn towards the larger numbers, but it doesn't hurt to have a hands-on confirmation.
