Agreed. Two socks then.

Has anyone here ordered a Helor 101 recently? Because I did, over two weeks ago, and I have received no word from Helor about my order. I've sent them three emails since, and they haven't responded to any of them. Looking at their Facebook reviews I'm not alone in this, so I wanted to ask if anyone here has been in contact with them, or if they've just gone dark completely?

Alright, quick update: after I posted here, Helor contacted me saying they have had some problems with their emails (replies not going through, my mails landing in the spam folder) and that's why I didn't get any of their replies. They told me that the Twin Burr version, which I ordered, is out of stock, that's why it hasn't shipped yet. They offered to send me the conventional version first and the contemporary burrs later when they become available again, and as a way of saying sorry they're also throwing in a felt carrying case.
This obviously hasn't been great, but I emailed them back and if everything is smooth sailing from here I'll be happy.

It seems Helor 101 is back in stock. I ordered one with twin burrs option.

New guy here, hello all.
Ordered the 101 with conventional burrs yesterday and have received confirmation email, so at least the robots are alert!
I've also ordered the 8oz (no longer in production I'm told) Espro Press; coming from the moka world I want try some other simple-ish home brew methods.

After being bummed out that Prima was out of stock, and hoping they would have a Black Friday sale -- I was able to order a Helor 101 direct from Australia. It's been in the mail for the better part of two weeks now but should be delivered tomorrow! I will be manual brewing an Ethiopia Kossa Geshe from Seeds Coffee in Birmingham.

I've seen some recommendations on settings for brew here, but haven't seen anything directly from Helor. Are there official recommendations for V60 and Kalita? I also will be taking my Clever and Aeropress with me to travel for the holidays, so I would be interested in suggestions with those as well.

I received mine today and quickly unpacked it to make a cup. I zeroed the burrs (one dot before the solid dot) and then set it to 34, which seems to be in the ballpark of 32-36 I see recommended for V60 here. Grinding was surprisingly difficult to start. I used Scott Rao's method of mixing the grounds during the bloom, a gentle stir and swirl during the brewing process. Drawdown took longer than expected (4:00 as opposed to around 3:00), and the top of the bed was VERY silty with fines. I'm using the conventional burrs. Any idea what might cause this and how to remedy it?

I've attached a picture of the spent bed so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
