I like the cups by these new burrs immediately. No dedicated seasoning beans run through.

I have informed hangsung, waiting for a response.
The last picture is definitely uncoated, I have the little brother in Silver knight and dos not look like that... it also look like old none coated Ditting cast burrs.

Just a quick update on the SSP LS cast burr for EG1. They are unusable in my test case. low RP and the grinder will stall, high RPM (anything below 900) and it takes forever to grind as the last few beans keep bouncing within the grind chamber until it is caught by the prebreakers.

I got my hands on the original ditting lab sweet burrs (with screws) and installed them on the EG1. Surprise surprise, they are performing perfectly fine. No stalling issue even at the finest setting and the lowest RPM. This was a surprise for me as i was expecting the stalling issue to occur as the SSP ones supposedly are a replica of the ditting lab sweet burrs. I contacted SSP about the issue, but got a very disappointing response and they don't seem concerned about it. From what i understood from SSP that these burrs were not actually test on the EG1 by SSP, rather they just sent a sample to weber "for test" and that basically i have to deal with how the burrs behaive...

i don't recommend anyone to bother with the SSP version and just get the original ones, they are amazing on the EG1.

Thanks for the update. Absolutely unreal that Hansung would make a burr-set that ONLY works with the EG1, and yet never even tried the product himself. Glad you're having better results from the genuine thing, and I'll be sticking to mine as well.

My new 80mm HU burrs do this on last few beans for a second or two, and overall grinding is about twice the time of my Lab Sweet or machined Ditting burrs.

Maybe I got lucky but I haven't had stalling problems with the blind Labsweet SSP burrs. Mine is silver knight coated, and usually run it at 600 rpm for filter or espresso (usually use Kafatek grinders for espresso).

Are you grinding any super-light beans for espresso using them?

I usually use very light roast beans, I was using the Ultra burrs the last couple of weeks with DAK milky cake. I'll switch back to the blind labsweet's this weekend. I definitely pour beans in slowly when doing that.

With the genuine Lab Sweets and a hot start, I just dump the entire dose and have never experienced any stalling. Have you tried that with SSP's version?
