I know nothing about machining tools, but this article has me wondering if normal flat vs ghost coffee burrs might be similar in differences between single vs double cut machine bits: https://benchmarkabrasives.com/blogs/ne ... rbide-burr
Single cut bits create more rough finishes and double cut bits create more smooth surfaces, and the design of the cutting edges of the bits looks similar to normal flat vs ghost. Perhaps the more cuts leads to smoother and uniform grinds like the machine bits.
