Option-O Mizen 64mm Omni burrs for Lagom P64 - Page 39
Just got the Sandblasted Mizen burrs.
I don't know what's going on, but it just doesn't grind fine enough. I made sure these are the Sandblasted with comparing to moonshine version and they look way less shiny than the moonshines
Also made sure chirp to lock is 3 ticks - 0.3 on the collar.
Grinding at 0.2 from zero gets me a 20 seconds shot.
What gives. ??

That's the same boat I'm in. Contact option-o and share your frustrations. I'm sure they'll help you.

I told them I was having trouble as I mentioned above, and they're sending a replacement set they say they've tested to confirm the recommended grind range. I'll update when they get here, but so far very impressed with OO customer support.

I'm wondering if this issue is for a certain batch of Mizen burrs or just isolated incidents.
Just received my Lagom P64 grinder with Mizen burrs last week and so far I honestly cannot believe what a step up this has been (I previously used a Eureka Mignon Specialita).
I am grinding at about 1.2 to 1.5 on Speed 7 and getting great shots with 19.5g in and ~45g out in about 24 to 29 seconds. I feel this leaves me enough room to get finer if necessary. I did a couple of shots at .9 to 1.1 but the grounds ended up very clumped together even with RDT, even though the shots were quite tasty.
I'm excited to be on the forum and look forward to all the tips and conversation!

I'm hoping to have a similar experience when I get my replacement burrs. What level roast are you grinding in this range? Congrats on the purchase, btw!Scott_29 wrote: I am grinding at about 1.2 to 1.5 on Speed 7 and getting great shots with 19.5g in and ~45g out in about 24 to 29 seconds.

This is the 17ft Ceiling blend from Blue Bottle, which is a dark roast. I'll report back when I get to a lighter roast, as I am very likely going to need to go finer. Now that I think about it, I hope I have enough room to get the necessary level of fineness I'm bound to need on a lighter roast bean.
Based on my experience so far, I expect you'll be around 0.5 to 0.7 on light roasts. But I'd love to see an update when you try it.
