At first i was like sh**, they made a grinder for 1/5 of the price of a monolith, which i own but ive calmed down :)

Firstly i do wish a huge success to this project and i really hope more and more people will be able to get a very good grinder so the whole community can develop and because competition is good.

But i cannot see myself buying such grinder and its completely the same with Decent espresso machine, i am not saying its not good in any way but its just not appealing and it doesn't look good nor i dont think it will really be on par with the big competitors out there, sure it will grind coffee but how well that is another question.

I much rather pay 100$ more after initial lunch with all the reviews out there and how well it does on the tasting notes than spend 450$ now and get a grinder that will "just grind" coffee and then i wont be able to even sell it.

And let us not even get on the particles size and tolerances and all that.

I really do wish i am mistaken here and i will buy it at full price in preferably black just to compare it to the monolith conical :)

My Fiorenzato F4 is a fine, consistent $595 grinder and I'm expecting this to be a step up. I don't think you have to worry about it stealing business from the $2000 grinders, but it may compete well with $1000 grinders.

Just an update here. On Monday I tested a Niche Zero with a 110V motor, in fact I used from 98V up to 125V, with no problems and it ground fine. I used a Variac (voltage and current monitored). The change is effectively transparent to the user and it's quite likely the same circuit board as in the UK can be used. The only difference is our 50 vs your 60 cycles, but that makes no real difference to the DC motor, if anything your motor will be more efficient. This was born out by consistently lower power readings for the same amount of load/torque. From memory I think it was around 10W lower. It could have been a peculiarity of the windings .

I will upload a video in a few days, when I get round to it. For me it was nice to see that the 110V motor works exactly as expected from it's datasheet.

Has anyone else had issues with Indiegogo and declining credit cards? I have two credit cards, one is Discover and the other VISA. VISA declined and send email saying suspicious activity. I called and reset, tried again with another occurrence. Discover declined, yet card works everywhere else and I am not near limit. This too has happened after two attempts across two weeks. I've never had this kind of issues with either card over many years of use. At this point, I am giving up with this purchase unless I can resolve the issue with payments. I sent email to Niche to see if they knew of issues.

Anyone else have these issues?

There was some problems reported on the UK forum...probably Indegogo issues?

I had my Discover declined but a Visa accepted.

Good thing that I needed a new grinder for the office!

I want to report back my order finally went through. I needed to call my card company and have them remove protections for 12hrs allowing the transaction to take place. Seems a bit excessive and I hope Indiegogo was notified (I emailed the folks at Niche).

EddyQ this is a normal credit card function for overseas and foreign transactions. You need to notify the card company first that you will be making such a purchase. Not Indiegogo's fault or Niche's fault.

Shouldn't the transaction go to Indiegogo, not Niche?

My credit card bill states "Indiegogo ####### GB".
I assume the GB is Great Britain; therefore a foreign transaction requiring extra security clearance.
