I have been using a 3D printed NFC disc for months. There's an STL file floating somewhere on this forum. It's a few cents worth of material.

This will be great and make it see through and exactly like the one Niche is shipping out.

Good to know, thanks. Is that even enough to mess up an extraction or notice the taste difference?

Sounds right. The 3D printed one and the offical one both have a slope down into the hole, which has the appearace of funneling beans into the burrs. Who knows if it actually does anything, but I imagine the laser cut ones wouldn't do this.

I should have explained this in more detail pardon me. Most laser cutters can alter focus point and create a slope (kind of like contouring in a CNC mill). Alternatively some cutters can articulate the head to create a chamfered edge.

I'd say a hard 'no,' but somebody might disagree. When you look at it, it is a tiny fraction of a dose.

Anyone who can taste .2g of coffee is literally just fooling themselves.
I know I've pulled a great shot when the flavour is 'like a beany taste that tastes like a bean'.
