You would have to think that Timemore would start to pre-season burrs in yet-to-be manufactured models.
(And let's hope that they do.)

What percentage of people would have knowingly purchased a grinder that (without forced pre-seasoning) would take 350 coffees+ before they were acceptable?

I thought the kickstarter price was a great deal, no?

We're all just speculating until the grinders ship and real production grinders are in people's hands.

Looking at the last two big crowdfunded grinders - the Weber Key and the Fellow Ode - does set a level of expectation of significant issues. Are people expecting Timemore to do better than Weber or Fellow optimistic, or realistic, or ? Stay tuned ... :D

I have had a KS Ode till since release and I'm not aware of any "significant issues," are you?

Don't know about the Ode, but I have a Weber Key and that has issues.

The burrset not grinding fine enough for some popular pourover methods was the big one. Of course if one doesn't use those methods then that isn't a significant issue. However, if those were your go-to brewing methods, then I'd say that is a very significant issue.

Fellow did make good and supplied new burrsets to backers (twice?) in part to address that issue, but they could have not done anything and the backers would have had no recourse.

My point is any crowdfunded project has risks, even in the case of Fellow, with their well-deserved positive reputation and extensive prior experience with crowdfunding projects.

If the only issue is it didn't grind fine enough, I think that's less an issue than mis-judging the target audience. I would guess that the number of people who needed that fine a grind is a really small percentage of users. It certainly ground much finer than I ever needed.

The pixie dust comment is the only "nonsensical" thing I've read from this thread, what's the point of that? Your post reads more as frustration with your own taste buds than with studies that people who are *actually knowledgeable* have produced. I feel like maybe a blade grinder some 8 O'Clock beans would suit your needs well.
Whoa, sorry if I offended you. Thanks for the personal insult, but I'll stick with my Profitec and Specialita thank you very much

This grinder was really hyped and three reviewers now say it channels like crazy and requires perfect puck prep.

The latest review says it is quite poor until you run 7 or 8kg thru it, hence why I brought it up.

I backed it and dropped it, credit to Timemore for refunding me fully.

The grinder has shipped to various countries, just not the US.

Funny talking about grind size distribution if the first 7kg are full of steel.
