You do the best asking Mahlkonig directly, IMO :)

How to lower total retention even more...
Idea is very simple, to fill the dead space with properly designed adapter.

Adapter is made from aluminium alloy, hand pressed on original upper burr carrier and securely bonded with Loctite 638.

I measured total retention after modification - cleaned the grinder chamber, chute and spout with vacuum cleaner, then single dosed 10.00g, output was 6.63g, so total retention is only 3.4g (!), reduced from original one by 2.5g. Practical retention will be even lower.

From earlier brush cleaning some time before chute itself holds 2.3 - 2.4g of coffee,

so I plan to try some modifications to the flapper (i.e. to make a new one).

E65s seems to be a nice refinement of the last K30 generation.

I agree, it's much more compact and better engineered, while remains the grinding quality of K30.

Launching shortly after SCA Boston (April 11-14). No word on the exact date because they're pending NSF certifications, no price either. I guess we could convert Euro to USD to get a ballpark price.

Mahlkonig confirmed that they will launch the grinder after SCA. If the exchange rate reflects the price correctly, it should be no more than $1700! Seems too good to be true though.

EU retail price is 1899 eur (incl. VAT, w/o shipment), what price did you use to convert?

A forum member had one for one day and returned it due to excessive spraying.
