A few nights ago, I modded my Ceado e37s "spraymaster". Taking a cue from the Nuova Simonelli Mythos One Clima Pro, I decided to make a "clump crusher" for my Ceado e37s.

There's a picture of the NS Mythos part here:

The Nuova parts catalog seems to indicate it is 0.25mm plastic.

A similar mod thread is in the UK Coffee Forum here, where a similar mod was made from a beer can. A number of people report it working well.

I made a similar device, but I used a plastic "gallon milk jug" (well, distilled water jug from WalMart) as the source of the plastic. I figured it was food safe, durable and free. It is about twice the thickness that I think the Nuova part is and I think a bit too stiff.

My cut out is slightly different than the one in the thread, but very similar. I removed the metal flap-door from the grinder, but left the SCC adjuster mechanism in place.

On the upside, it is working. No spraying and no seeming chance of spraying, ever. Grinds are coming out relatively clump free. Retention is a good deal more though and I think that is a product of the stiffness (thickness) of the plastic and that it doesn't insert up into the very edge of the grinding chamber, as it does on the NS Mythos Clima pro.

I'll seek a thinner plastic and run this in the mean time. But so far, it seems to be a very big improvement.
