Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O) - Page 228
Not necessarily you don't know if this burr delivery is enough for the next round of manufacturing. When I got my p64 I had a similar email about motors not passing QC, but ended up with no delay in the end.
It's worth the wait!

Got my email today. A delay , not because of Mizen burrs but PCB controller.filmdubber wrote:Not necessarily you don't know if this burr delivery is enough for the next round of manufacturing. A part of their message : "But, we did hit a bit of a snag with the PCB controller. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the last batch of PCBs that we received. The good news is that we expect to receive the new ones in mid-late May, and we'll be preassembling everything to minimize the delay. So based on this, we expect there is a minor delay to your order and only be able to start dispatching the May batch starting around late May (so it would be approximately 2-3 weeks delay to the original timeline)."
I've had mine for 2 weeks now and it just keeps getting better and better. I'm really happy with the investment and it's definitely a gigantic leap from my Niche, so much so that I have been able to really enjoy a darker/medium roast espresso of which I just couldn't handle the harshness that was produced by the Niche.
I put it down to the Niche producing too many fines getting over extracted in the shot.
Whilst the Niche Z is a great grinder, I doubt I'll ever buy another conical.
P64 is using SSP MPs and straight out of the box.
Build quality has exceeded expectations, and they were high.

At least they have a strong component QC, I'd rather wait a bit then have things fail!Sp0ke wrote:Got my email today. A delay , not because of Mizen burrs but PCB controller.

I've had my P64 for several weeks now and it's going great. 0 was pre-set at burr lock.
It's very quiet and there are ways to even further reduce the noise with acoustically insulated lids if 'silence' is necessary.
With my specific set up a change of one 'marking' 0.9 - 1.0 is roughly equivalent to 18g of shot weight depending on the coffee and exact extraction profile used. I created a calibration line by putting 1kg of slightly cheaper beans through at various grind settings. Surprisingly coming from a cheaper grinder, all the extractions from almost no flow to a gusher were somewhat drinkable, although some were not too good, which was not the case with my last grinder where they quickly become undrinkable outside the usual target parameters.
The grinder took maybe 1.5kg of coffee to truly become low retention with very fluffy grounds, before that I was getting some minor logs and static.
I haven't taken it apart to look at alignment, but I don't feel the need.
The included portafilter funnel does not support 58.5mm through-tamping and I find the surface roughness of the dosing 'cup' to be too rough, leading to some retention on the walls, as some rather picky negatives.

Agree, and I wish they made it to allow thru-tamping.brackc wrote:

I have a drill press, and drum-sanding disks, so I setup a 2" drum with course abrasive, and enlarged the funnel inside diameter. Smoothed it up with medium, then fine abrasive. Worked pretty good. Now my ECM stock tamper goes thru it.
Of course, my black funnel is now silver for about 1/4 the internal height.

The one that comes with the machine or the optional separate purchase "transfer cup"?barNone wrote:The P64 dosing cup separates into two, they're just held together by magnets. That's how my cup fits in there.

With which burr set did your P64 come ?
I bought mine with Mizen burrs (havent received it yet , it's early/mid May) and they told me from OO , that it wont need seasoning.
