Good to see they are looking into retrofits. Me, I'll wait for a espresso capable gen 3 with a beefier motor

Yeh look the anti-static part is what I really want, though I'm guessing this will be impossible with it being wired into the power for the grinder.iBrew wrote:Will the new anti static shoot retro fit on the Gen 1 Ode? I'm not going to buy a gen 2 Ode with a perfectly working gen 1 Ode but would love to replace the hopper and the new shoot.

The anti-static feature is not upgradeable. Many parts are new and the electronics have been updated.iBrew wrote:Will the new anti static shoot retro fit on the Gen 1 Ode? I'm not going to buy a gen 2 Ode with a perfectly working gen 1 Ode but would love to replace the hopper and the new shoot.

Good to see a company that listens, hopper with a better slope that reduces need for pushing the beans into the grinder when RDT, an improvement in exit chute something I been vocal about not working well enough for finer grinds, the anti static features, more heft to the grinder, better burrs and probably a few things I missed. I must say the grinder got more upgrades then what I could have ever hoped for, now not upgrading it but it's now the grinder it should have been, but that's the thing with buying the very first version of everything.

I pulled my Ode out of the closet to start using it again a few days ago. It was unplugged and alone for like 6-8 months and now, when I run it, it no longer automatically turns off when there are no beans left. I'm not sure what it do beyond emailing fellow - and I have already.
Anyone have any ideas? I don't see how something could have broken when it worked fine before and was sitting on a self without interruption...
Very strange.

There a 'PCBA'(think that's what it's called?) reset procedure whereby you unplug the grinder for a few minutes, then plug it back in. I've seen people with this issue, and this always seems to fix it. It may well be a little groggy after its long nap in the closet!

Thanks for the response. I tried that today at a few intervals: 2 mins unplugged, 5 on, 5 unplugged, 10 on, 10 unplugged, 20.. and so on.
No love.
Thanks for the suggestion though!

The auto detection works well in my Ode - as in it shuts off within a few seconds after grinding stops. I still need to pulse the grinder on and off for the auger to feed the last bean or two to the burrs, so the usefulness is somewhat limited.
