Have a look at the picture on this website https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/eurek ... so-grinder. It's the same fork as the Atom has. The old one was just a piece of simple bent metal that you could remove completely.

The timer will tell you if you have a new or old Olympus. The old timer can be set in 0.1s steps and the new one in 0.05s steps. The old one couldn't go below 0.5s where the new one can go down to 0.2s. That's the best check to see if you have a new or old one.

At what setting do the burrs start touching on your grinders? Wondering if touching at a big distance could indicate misalignment.
