Espresso Coffee Shop totally dropped the ball on my order.
Ordered on Dec 31st 2019 and they JUST shipped it today via UPS.
I hope I am not slammed with brokerage fees and taxes!
Anyone else's order ship via UPS or DHL?
Anything owing upon delivery?

UPS, and you will have duties and taxes about 76 or so bucks, UPS offered me $10 discount but never saw it (for paying them pre delivery).

Track the item and it will show you taxes/duties information as it gets closer to delivery date.

Mine took a few weeks to ship as well, but that was because they had to wait for a restock of white Specialitas. Could have been the case for you and your specific model/color. The order was placed during the holidays and it wouldn't surprise me if they, or Eureka, took a long holiday.

Mine was shipped UPS, no additional fees were due. Granted, all of this was nearly a year ago. EDIT: I just realized you're in Canada. This info obviously wouldn't apply

Yeah I ordered white as well.
It was shipped Express Saver and according to UPS's site brokerage is only owed on ground however we will see.

It was only $10, they charge that as a fee for forwarding funds to CBA.
Rest was the fee for CBA charging GST/HST on the value and no duties.

Boo-urns....

NOTE: the total value used for calculation of all Duty-based fees is 0.00.

Government Charges: 57.74
Duty: 0.00
HST or GST + PST: 24.06
Excise: 0.00
Other Government Charges: 33.68
UPS Customs Brokerage Charges: 10.50
Brokerage Fee: 10.00
Brokerage GST/HST: 0.50
Brokerage QST: 0.00
Permit: 0.00
Freight Charges: 0.00
Total Due CAD: 68.24

Gotta love the "other government charges" bit.
Still $630 all in vs $850 plus tax here in Canada, saved a good $300+ buying via them.

I think they charge you full 13% HST, see if the 57.74$ is 13% of the "Value for Duty" amount. The 10+hst is is the fee i was saying they will charge for advancing the bill to CBA. You still did good as you mentioned.

You can call CBA and find out what the Other charges value is, but i suspect its the 13% of Valude for Duty amount.

Got mine somewhere around end of October, never saw the duty charge. Albeit I had it shipped to work and they have their own broker - still, the brokerage slip hasn't showed up.

And as much as I'd like to support local stores, sometimes it just doesn't make any sense. How can they be selling it for 300$ more then it costs to get one shipped "almost-overnight" directly from Italy?

As far as the grinder goes - it has been really boring and event-less... it's quite, it grinds, it grinds well, give at a clean every month or so, yes - the grind consistency is still wacky, but it's within the acceptable range, and damn that thing is quite! Not much else to report on. Settes are lot more fun in that regard.
