Hi All: My 4 year old (home use) Eureka Atom is dead after a cleaning. No other noises or smoke or anything, ran the Grindz through it, vacuumed it out, wash and dry the hopper, won't run. Display dark. Pulled the bottom and the display off, nothing looks burnt or out of place There were a lot of grounds and Grindz dust inside. Thought I might have missed the hopper safety switch but there is none. Kinda suspect lower control board but just a guess. Any ideas?
Thanks, Duke

I suppose you checked the connectors and wiring from the control board to the display?
Not sure, but there may be a fuse at the control board (I have to check mine, but I never dismantled it that far, so far)....

Gave the wiring a once over will go back in and get a closer look, maybe pull the lower board to see the underside. Once in awhile something will be visible and fixable. Made a drip cup yesterday from my espresso grinder and my normal espresso beans (use hopper so no single dose possible) pretty awful.

I assume you tried different wall receptacles to plug into.

Yes, retired electrician here. Crazy as crazy can be; first day of problem looked, tapped, sniffed for burn smell, nothing at all. That was enough for one day. Next day pull it apart looked harder, had my Fluke 77 ready to ring out what I could. Machine on it's back plugged it in again just for the hell of it; came on normal.Tried to make it fail; nope.

Sounds like something was loosened during your cleaning process or worse shorted out. If you're fairly handy, I would take apart, inspect and rebuild a far as you can reasonably go. Another thought, is it possible there is a motor/gear lockup?
Good luck,
