Monoliths sometimes appear in the Buy/Sell forum on this site. But, they're usually listed at close to full price.Monsterzero wrote:May I ask, where did you find a used Monolith?

But, don't you need to be invited by Denis, to join that forum, once you're an owner?

For almost 12 months I have been a Niche Zero owner. The Niche is obviously a conical burr grinder designed for single dosing. And this is what I like so much about it. The work-flow, the ability to go between 'ordinary' coffee and decaf without having to waste and the consistency of what you put in and what you get out.
BUT... after coming from a Rocket flat burr grinder, I really do wonder if my preference of in-cup flavour comes from flat burrs. In spite of it costing about double the price here in New Zealand, I would seriously consider making the change.
Is there anyone out there who has had hands-on experience with both these grinders and could pass an opinion on one versus the other?
And just as an aside, while the Niche spins at only 3-400 rpms, pop corning is definitely a function of it's performance. That was until the more recent update where a disk with a slot is incorporated into the mouth that spins with the burrs and feeds the beans at a constant rage and prevents beans from bouncing off the burrs.

Can you get them here in NZ? I ended up getting a Niche Zero after deciding I would have to bring the Ceado in from Australia and also getting the impression the Australians were not all that enamored with the Ceado service they were receiving.PeteB wrote: In spite of it costing about double the price here in New Zealand...
