Baratza virtuoso makes gnarly noise

Grinders are one of the keys to exceptional espresso. Discuss them here.

I have a baratza virtuoso that I mainly use for french press and drip, as I upgraded my espresso grinder some time ago. Last week it started making this really ugly noise; the coffee would be grinding, but then the grinding stopped and the motor made this high pitched noise, not sure if the burr was jammed or what.

Has anyone had that issue? I cleaned it out, and when I add in just a few beans at a time it's ok, but anything more than 5 grams or so it jams up again.
Anyone familiar with that issue?

I found this thread: Is that the same thing?

I haven't had that issue, but it sounds like it might be a drive gear issue. Baratza has excellent customer service, so you should email them or give them a call. I suspect they will sort you out very quickly.
Lock and load!
