Baratza Vario & Encore Burr Life?

Grinders are one of the keys to exceptional espresso. Discuss them here.

I have a Baratza Vario (purchased used) and a Baratza Encore (purchased new) that I have had for approximately 3 years. I have never replaced the burrs on either one.

I go through about 1 lb of beans a month and split the load approximately evenly between the 2 grinders (Vario for espresso and Encore for Aeropress). How long should these burrs last since I have put approximately 75 lbs through each machine (and I don't know how much the previous owner put through the Vario before me).

I want to upgrade the Encore to the Preciso M2 burr but I don't know if I should replace the other burr at the same time.

I also don't know if the Vario is due for an upgrade (especially considering I don't know how much it was used before I bought it).

Thanks!

Google says:

I hope that will answer your question.

I was going to say that your grandchildren will be the ones to worry about that!
