@ LaDan, no more beemer cafer racer anymore. for a few years now it's moto guzzi (cafeborealmoto.blogspot.com). the analogy would be mazzer instead of mahlkoenig.

Beautiful job refinishing your Major. I am so glad you posted that pic! Currently have 9 grinders (3 Major 6 SJ) was just fixin' to start sanding and I had thought painting one at a time. But that taking it down to the bones and polish is gorgeous. Picked up a random orbital sander today and started on the first one. Tested doing one side starting with sander 120 then 320 disks then Scotch pads brown then white. Gonna work great!

Also ordered the first 2 Auber timers today. (Currently running all the grinders plugged into Gralab timers) I'm going to attempt intalling in the space currently occupied by regular power switch instead of back like you did. I've seen Espressoparts do some Mazzers modded that way (with a different more expensive digital timer.)

hmmm I have an older Mazzer Major branded RIO and I do not have the hopper safety switch and not sure if I have the thermal motor switch either but will have to open that up and look... would the wiring be different on the block? also... can the doser fill switch be removed completely? it seems yes from the diagram... its really in the way for cleaning out the chute anyway.... Im also considering removing the doser all together... its totally unnecessary for my setup...
