I waited and waited for this to be available when I took a trip to the US in October but given the sketchy delivery reputation on MBK I bought a Lido E-T from Prima. I see they now have Aergrind available as well, for a price much lower than I expected. Given the price of Hausgrind and Feldgrind how is the Aergrind so much cheaper? I'd like to buy one on my next trip as the E-T, while a wonderful grinder, is actually pretty big to be a part of my overnight kit. With kettle and Aeropress I have little room left for clothes, Macbook and accessories etc.
Are there any price point related quality or durability issues? I appreciate the low price but the company doesn't seem the sort to offer bargains.

The Aergrind is cheaper because they've streamlined the production, made it easier to align and ordered items in bulk (think it was 2000 burr sets).

And is derived probably from customizing something like this, that sells the sample for half Aergrind price, imagine in thousand units...

Also smaller, less materials. And Knock is targeting a price bracket worthy of a travel grinder.....designed around an aeropress. Which for me, is precisely why im not interested. I typically grind 29g for pourover for 16 oz vac mug. Appears to be edge of what it can hold. Imo they should have concentrated a little less on aeropress specifications. Or at least, not screwed up the feldgrind for travel when introduced the niche model aergrind.

Feld 2 will be slightly cheaper than feldgrind it looks as well. If only they hadnt ruined it for travel by attaching handle to lid.......

Which I think is why the recent stock of feldgrinds Prima had....sold out in a couple days. At its higher price, and multi-piece body/bearing support. Its still a more desireable design to size/travel design to some. A well designed grinder doesnt even need a lid....a tall narrow tube keeps beans in....a wide mouth enables you to pour in....witness Kinu design.. no stupid lid to futz with....

No more using lid on my Feld since second week, with a little care to not shake too vigorously, no bean jumps outside.

Now the lid rest in the same bag with o-rings :)

Does anybody have any pictures of the grind the AerGrind produces? I'd love to see some. Would highly appreciate comparison to other grinders as well if anybody has gotten this as a second grinder.

A link from page 14 of this thread: http://forum.wszystkookawie.pl/index.ph ... #msg118249

Aergrind grinds compared to a few other hand grinders.

Earlier in the Polish thread there was also a a comparison between the grinders (google manages to translate it so that it becomes understandable also to non-Polish-speakers).
