or they could leave it as is because, you know, it works perfectly fine.renatoa wrote:Not quite... they still can offer a separate package with the grind collector for non Aeropress users, but the removal of collector from the Aeropress package allows them to make the grinder body longer, Feldgrind sized for example, thus more capacity.
The non Aeropress users would be not worried about the size increase, they aren't worried to host the grinder inside the piston, thus no length limit.

How many people grind 30+ grams for an Aeropress brew?renatoa wrote:Not quite... they still can offer a separate package with the grind collector for non Aeropress users, but the removal of collector from the Aeropress package allows them to make the grinder body longer, Feldgrind sized for example, thus more capacity.

For non-Aeropress users who don't care that much about size the obvious solution is to buy a Feldgrind.

And right you were, it started it's journey to Spain this Monday, according to Royal mail's tracking.nk wrote:An invalid Royal Mail tracking number may represent a created label that has not been scanned by the post yet. Give it a few days. May be worth trying the tracking number in USPS since they also get forwarded the tracking information and then update for delivery purposes.

Ive placed several order from UK, tracking to U.S. didnt work worth a darn. Black hole from time it goes to customs.nk wrote:An invalid Royal Mail tracking number may represent a created label that has not been scanned by the post yet. Give it a few days. With my kinu grinder from germany , the only option is DHL. Its as bad as the horror stories you hear. My grinder got to 60 miles from my house, but instead of delivering it to me, they decided to send it to russia instead. So it took a detour. Then they said it was because paperwork was missing and i needed to get Kinu to issue more......then they found the paperwork scanned in their system and said that "might" work. Then it totally dissapeared from their system and no one could tell me what happened. Then they said it would be delivered in a week, and it was there next day.
I have no idea how dhl can stay in business.

My grinder arrived on Tuesday (with a complimentary aerdisc) and I've been using it daily for espresso since.treyd wrote:I placed my order on Sept 4 and got my shipping notification a week ago on the 4th.
According to the tracking it's been sitting in ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) since 6am on the 6th.
Trying to be patient ....
Initial impressions are that the build quality and materials are better than I expected based on the pictures I've seen to date.
It's very comfortable in the hand and grinding is quite smooth and quick. I have yet to need to "encourage" a sticky bean into the burrs from the hopper. This is something I have to do frequently with the Comandante. Probably this is due to the hopper being only slightly larger in diameter than the burrs.
Overall I really like the Aergrind, however, at least with my unit, the shaft has enough play that the inner burr wobbles. It's not at all like the wobble on my Hario mini, but still it's enough to see the difference in grind quality it puts out vs the Comandante. That's a bit disappointing.
I'd like to hear from other folks that have received theirs about whether they have wobble. Not sure if I should try to get some support from MBK or if this is just how the grinder has been engineered.
I was going to do a tear-down to see if there was some adjustment I could make to get rid of the play, but then I read the posting of the manual and decided I'd better not "void your warranty in that regard". Thanks to tallnproud for posting as I didn't have access to it because I was not part of the kickstarter. There were no instructions that accompanied the grinder, nor does this seem to be posted on the MBK website.
Anyway, anyone else seeing similar play in the shaft/inner burr alignment?
One other issue that might be related (hard to say without a teardown) is that my burrs zero out at about 11.5 not 1 as the manual describes. Perhaps the shims they use to set the zero point also have some effect on the play of the shaft. Thoughts??
(Edit 11/19)
At least one other person has a unit with wobble: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMorbfMAzEE

It is great for espresso, try settings between 1.7 to 1.10, the darker roast the coarser
